A touching reunion between King Charles and Caroline Freeman, his childhood dance partner, occurred during a royal visit to Guernsey. The King spoke fondly of their dancing sessions with Marguerite Vacani, thanking Freeman for his invaluable guidance, as he greeted the gathering in St Peter Port. The King acknowledged that he needed additional dance instruction when Freeman urged him to continue. Later, Freeman recalled that King Charles had taught him the polka when he was just four years old, and he remembered her as a gifted and endearing dancer. She also said that Princess Anne attended the courses; at the time, she was almost a toddler.
