While attempting to summit K2, two Japanese climbers disappear: official

The Japanese climbers Kazuya Hirade and Kenro Nakajima fell from a height of 7,500 meters on the west of K2, according to Shigar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Waliullah Falahi. Helicopters from the Pakistan Army carried

out a search and found the climbers below the 100-meter level, but there was no sign of movement. The helicopters were unable to land due to the altitude, therefore a ground rescue team is getting ready. It's unclear right now how the climbers are doing.

In other developments, on Saturday morning, a group of 12 Pakistanis, 1 Russian, and 2 Nepalese climbers successfully reached the summit of Broad Peak (8,051m). As the climbing season comes to a conclusion, teams are pushing for the summits of Gasherbrum I and K2. Gilgit-Baltistan is home to over 2,000 domestic and international climbers, including the eight-thousanders K2, Broad, and Nanga Parbat.
Mirza Ali, the climber who leads Karakoram Expeditions, reported that nine of his team members and Russian Iya Pershina had successfully ascended Broad Peak despite difficult weather. Mirza Ali took delight in his team's ability to persevere through several inches of snow. Furthermore, around 11:30 a.m., Shehroze Kashif, the team leader for Pakistani Broadboy Adventures, successfully ascended Broad Peak and raised the green flag in celebration.
