Sunday was the warmest day on record worldwide, according to climate monitor

With an average surface air temperature of 17.09 degrees Celsius (62.76 degrees Fahrenheit), July 21, 2024, was the hottest day ever recorded worldwide, according to data from the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service. This new record is marginally better than the one that was previously achieved in July of last year. The director of the EU climate monitor, Carlo Buontempo, emphasized that the temperatures over the past 13 months differ significantly from historical records, suggesting that the climate is moving into uncharted territory.

The living conditions of Palestinian refugees have been made worse by recent heatwaves that have impacted significant portions of Gaza, Europe, Russia, and the United States. Since June 2023, every month has seen a rise in temperature over the same months the previous year, with a significant contributing component being human-induced global warming.

It is also predicted by scientists that 2024 may be the warmest year ever because of continuing climate change and the El Niño weather event, which ended in April and raise
d temperatures even further.
